First Time Visitor

I’m new. Where do I start?

New to Creston-Kenilworth? Welcome!

We’re so glad you found us! Kenilworth Presbyterian Church is an historic church located in Creston-Kenilworth Neighborhood in Southeast Portland, Oregon. We are an inclusive spiritual community for all of God’s people. We are neighborhood-centered and community-minded. Our sanctuary is wheelchair accessible.

We are currently worshipping in a hybrid service. Online worshippers access the service via a Zoom link. If you would like to worship with us online, please contact the church office to receive the link to the service. Call 503-235-3977 or email to kenilworthpc@gmail.com.

To help you to get to know us a bit more, here is a quick overview of frequently asked questions and helpful topics:

2. Come as you are

Typically, the attire of those who attend KPC is “dressy casual,” but you’ll find all kinds of styles among us. Please feel free to wear whatever is comfortable for you.

Please don’t delay your visit until you think it’s the perfect time or you are exactly where you want to be in life. Just come as you are. We do!

3. Style of worship

The worship style of Kenilworth can be described as “casually traditional.” You won’t find a rock band in our service but you’ll experience talented musicians and vocalists, an organ and a piano, and sometimes “guest appearances” of other instruments. Our liturgy is typically “mainline” but is not so formal as to be “stuffy.” We enjoy laughter and a casual “vibe.”

See more about worship on a typical Sunday.

4.  What about children?

Our worship service includes a time for children.

We have an intergenerational service and children are warmly included into our worshiping church family. Babies are a particular joy to have in worship. We have rocking chairs in the sanctuary for parents to use. Children worship with their family until the Time for Children. Following that portion of the worship service, children leave for Sunday School.

5. Coffee Fellowship

Following the worship service, you are invited to join us in the Fireplace Room for beverages, healthy snacks and conversation with other worshippers. The Coffee Fellowship is a great time to get to know other people in our church.
