Old Mother Hubbard went to the cupboard… This nursery rhyme comes to mind when a person enters our food storeroom. Our shelves are unusually empty.
Thankfully, the tables at Friday pantries are NOT empty. OFB produce, New Seasons and QFC gleaned dairy and breads, City Teams Ministries meat, cheese and deli items, alng with purchased eggs provide the clients with many welcome choices.
Missing are the shelf-stable items like vegetable oil, rice, pasta, canned beans and tomatoes and flour/masa that are no longer available from the Oregon Food Bank.
