Bright Sunday: Holy Humor on April 12

We will be observing our 15th Bright Sunday on April 12 during morning worship. Bright Sunday, or Holy Humor Day, celebrates the joke God played on Satan by raising Jesus from death to life. The Devil thought he’d won, but the joke was on him.

The past few years have seen Biblical characters coming to Portland and KPC to deliver a message to us. Noah was concerned about all the rain, Jonah wanted us to repent, Ruth helped clean up Portland parks, the Prodigal taught us about recycling and Jacob and Sons reminded us that a smaller cast is better.

This year, Paul, is NOT coming to Portland. Paul is writing letters to the church at the corner of SE 34th and Gladstone, encouraging them to be of one mind.

The worship service will include kazoo accompaniment to hymns, Dock Talk, aka bad dad jokes, and an open Mic for jokes fit to tell in church.

Come prepared to enjoy all the wonderful things that God has provided for us, including smiles, laughs and some good belly laughs.

The service starts at 10:30. All are welcome.
