Palm Sunday: April 13: Our worship begins with the traditional palms and music. As the service progresses we will move through Passion Week, the week leading up to Easter, exploring the scriptures.
Maundy Thursday: April 17: Worship will begin at 7:30 pm. This service includes communion and recounts the final moments Jesus has with his disciplines.
Good Friday: April 18. KPC is not hosting any services on this day, but many other churches will. One that sounds interesting is a Jazz Service at Resurrection Lutheran Church, 1700 NE 132nd Ave, Portland, OR, 97230, that starts at 7 pm.
Resurrection Sunday: EASTER SUNDAY, April 20: Don’t be late or you’ll miss the exciting opening “He Is Risen! He Is Risen, Indeed!” This will be a truly joyous worship service. It begins at 10:30 am
Bright Sunday: April 27: During the Middle Ages, Catholic priests played jokes on their parishioners during the weeks following Easter. The devil thought he’d won, but God played a trick on the devil by resurrecting Jesus. We continue that tradition at KPC by celebrating Holy Humor Sunday the week following Easter. This year’s worship includes the story of Ruth and Naomi who are returning to Portland after sheltering in Canada during the pandemic. Come see what happens. There will be camp songs, a kazoo instrumental and open mic time for humor appropriate for church.
